TUSCANY – There are 986 positive cases of Covid-19 in the last twenty-four hours registered in Tuscany – 462 in the territories of the ASL Center, 363 in the Northwest and 161 in the Southeast – and brings the total number of people currently ill to a height 10,851

Of the 986 new cases, 865 were identified during follow-up and 121 through screening activities. The average age of 986 cases today is about 43 years (19% are under 20, 26% between 20 and 39, 31% between 40 and 59, 16% between 60 and 79 and 8% have 80 or more).

The province most affected continues to be that of Florence with 347 new cases, followed by Pisa (197).

The data are those of the bulletin produced daily by the Region to monitor the progress of the epidemic, updated at noon today.

Of the 10,851 people currently positive for Covid in Tuscany, almost all are isolated at home (10,340) because you do not need special health care (794 more than yesterday), 511 are hospitalized (71 more), of which 62 in intensive care there are 62 (7 more). There are fewer people in preventive isolation after contact with the infected, 16,832 in total, 49 less than yesterday (Asl Centro 6,106, Northwest 6,472, Southeast 4,254).

Excluding the control swabs, 7,178 people were tested in the last day: of these, 13.7 percent, more than yesterday, tested positive.

Of the 11,731 cured since the beginning of the epidemic (109 more than yesterday, plus 0.9%), 498 are clinically recovered (38 more in the last twenty-four hours, plus 8.3%), that is, they were asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection, while 11,233 (71 more than yesterday, plus 0.6%) declared themselves completely cured, the so-called viral cures, after a double negative smear.

Since the start of the emergency, 440 people have died in Florence, 54 in Prato, 86 in Pistoia, 184 in Massa Carrara, 149 in Lucca, 100 in Pisa, 65 in Livorno, 57 in Arezzo, 33 in Siena and 26 in Grosseto . , while twelve people died on Tuscan soil but resided elsewhere.

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 32.3 per 100,000 inhabitants against 60.5 per 100,000 for the Italian average. Tuscany ranks eleventh in this special ranking. Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (94.4 per 100 thousand), Florence (43.5 per 100 thousand) and Lucca (38.4 per 100 thousand); the lowest is in Grosseto (11.7 per 100,000).
