The communication was necessary as a result of the information included in the circular recently sent to the Regions by the Ministry of Health.
ISOLATIONS / QUARANTS AND READMISSION TO THE COMMUNITY – For asymptomatic positive cases, an isolation of 10 days is foreseen from the execution of the swab whose result is positive, which will end after a negative result of the molecular test carried out from the tenth day. For symptomatic cases, the 10 days of isolation are calculated from the onset of symptoms: if it is vague and difficult to locate over a period of time, the date of the positive swab is referenced. The isolation ends with the negative result of the molecular test from the 10th day, with at least the last 3 days before the swab without symptoms.
CLOSE CONTACTS – For close contacts of symptomatic or asymptomatic positive cases, a period of isolation is always required. Re-entry to the community after negative rapid or molecular antigen swab is allowed from the 10th day or after a quarantine period of 14 days from the last exposure to the case that has elapsed without symptoms, without the need for swabbing. It should be noted that, for readmission to the community of close contacts in the school environment, in case the subject ends the quarantine after 14 days without swabs, it is not necessary to request the certification of readmission from Pls / Mmg.
DEFINITION OF THE TERM «CONTACT» – A Covid-19 contact case is anyone exposed to a probable or confirmed Covid-19 case within a period of time ranging from 48 hours before the onset of symptoms to the time of diagnosis and isolation of the case. If the case does not show symptoms, contact with the index case is considered within 48 hours before the swab is performed.
