In July it was a region free of coviditis, in August, thanks to the tourist season, it had become an outbreak that threatened to re-erupt infections throughout Italy. Now that, in September, Sardinia raises the barriers against the virus and the Region issues an ordinance that actually introduces an ironclad principle: only those who are definitely negative for the coronavirus can land on the island and in any case it will always be mandatory to use one. mask even outdoors. In the fight against the epidemic, the double track between the government and the local authorities continues to prevail, the latter proceeding in a random order, now more severe, now more permissive than the rules established by Rome.
The new restrictive order of the governor of Sardinia Christian Solinas establishes that as of September 14, passengers entering the island’s ports and airports are invited to present a certificate of negativity to the virus when boarding ships and planes or to self-certify that they have tested negative in a serological, molecular test or antigen. In the absence of this, they agree to perform a swab within 48 hours of arrival and report the result to the local health authorities. The same ordinance immediately imposes the obligation to wear masks 24 hours a day even outdoors in cases where it is not possible to respect the distance of one meter. Passengers without certification and who will be subjected to the swab in Sardinia are obliged to remain in fiduciary home isolation pending the results of the exam.
