WORRYING SCENARIO – «The daily number of cases in constant increase outlines a worrying scenario. Although in fact many of these positive cases refer to subjects who do not have particular health problems, a significant percentage in the coming days will have to seek medical attention, further increasing the pressure on the hospital system. We work incessantly on two fronts: strengthening contact tracing activities in the territory and preparing the hospital system to adapt to the progressive wave of cases. We renew our appeal to citizens to limit any social contact to a minimum and strictly comply with hygiene regulations.

An agreement was signed between the Puglia region and the general practitioner unions that will allow family physicians to perform rapid smears in the offices or facilities that ASL makes available. This was announced by the secretary of Fimmg Bari, Nicola Calabrese.

PEDIATRICS OF APULIA IN THE REGION: “CLOSE SCHOOLS FOR 14 DAYS” – Suspension of school lessons for 14 days and reorganization of the test system, with the use of the quick swab to be carried out directly at the school in case of return of students in isolation. This is the proposal by Luigi Nigri, a reference in Apulia and national vice president of the Italian Federation of Pediatricians (Fimp), made last night during a meeting with Governor Michele Emiliano and the Councilor for Health, Pierluigi Lopalco.

According to pediatricians in Apulia, all schools need a break, of at least two weeks, to reorganize and give the green light to rapid tests to be carried out directly in schools to avoid hassle and wait for families to reserve a tampon. The Puglia region is evaluating the hypothesis.
