The curve for coronavirus infections in Campania still falls: today the virus is registered 1,009 positives out of 16,353 swabs performed147 less than yesterday but with 4,051 less processed swabs. In percentage, it means that 6.17% of the tests are positive, a little more than yesterday when the contagion rate was 5.66%. Of all these newly infected, 881 are asymptomatic and only 128 have symptoms. After the November record with 99,579 positive swabs, therefore, the month of December registered a significant slowdown, as a result of the decrees and ordinances of recent days.
More generally, the total of positives amounts to 185,282 on 1,983,047 swabs processed while the number of victims rises to 2,670 with the seven deaths registered yesterday, although the crisis unit is quick to specify that “they have died previously.” On the other hand, hospital admissions improved: 1,449 hospitalized with symptoms, 39 less than yesterday and 102 patients in intensive care, exactly yesterday. And the number of recovered patients is also growing, from 101,601 to 102,065 with 464 negative in 24 hours.
