(ANSA) – PARIS, NOVEMBER 12 – “We have decided to keep the lockdown rules unchanged, at least for the next 15 days”: this was announced by the French Prime Minister, Jean Castex. Therefore, the so-called “non-essential” stores will remain closed. Speaking to reporters, Castex said that if hospital data continues to rise, authorities will be forced to enact new measures. Currently, he warned, the number of hospitalized patients with Covid-19 exceeds the April peak. “In France, we have one hospitalization every 30 seconds and one intensive care admission every three minutes.” Castex stated that 40% of these patients are under 65 years of age. He also added that “one in four deaths in France is now due to the coronavirus.” Today, at the Elysee, a new health defense council dedicated to the epidemic was held. Therefore, France has decided to keep the blockade active at least until the end of the month. However, to appease the anger of traders, Castex has evoked a possible “relaxation”, if the situation allows it, in some commercial activities, but not in bars, restaurants and gyms, as of December 1 (ANSA).
