ROME Amid exceptions, bans and self-certifications, Italians are preparing for the Christmas holidays in the pandemic. Palazzo Chigi has provided some clarifications in this regard and has announced that the now traditional “Faq” that accompany the government decrees will arrive in the coming days, to have more certainty, also in relation to the numerous regional and municipal ordinances that in these days they are chasing a bit all over Italy.
Movements. However, private homes can only be reached in two or with children under 14 and only once a day. The presence of disabled people and “non-self-sufficient partners” is also granted. To move you will have to get the new self-certification, practically identical to the one that accompanied the Dpcm of December 3, except for the exclusion in the text of the Region to which it is addressed because it is prohibited by the new law. The sanctions for any infringement have been confirmed and can also be challenged in the days after the control. The trips, of course, are also granted for proven work needs, situations of need or health. On days considered orange, residents of a municipality with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants may also travel to neighboring municipalities, within a 30-kilometer radius. A rule for which the same exceptions provided for in the decree apply, that is, traveling within your own region to visit family or friends once a day.
Bars and restaurants. Confirming the curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., extended until 7 a.m. on January 1. Bars and restaurants that will be closed from December 24 to January 6, with the possibility of keeping only the home delivery or take away service open.
Second box. During the entire holiday period, then, it will always be possible to reach second homes, but only if they are within the region of residence.
Religious functions. Self-certification at hand and the nearest church: these are the indications for Christmas Mass, both on December 24 and 25. But also for all the other religious festivals of this Christmas period the indication of the Italian Episcopal Conference is this.
Commercial business. It will not be a red zone for everyone. Even on days of total closure, businesses such as supermarkets, grocery stores, basic necessities, newsstands, tobacconists, laundries, hairdressers and barbers will remain open. Instead, all commercial establishments that do not fall within the cases listed above, beauty centers, gyms, must keep the shutters closed.
Motor activity. On Christmas days from the red zone, physical and sports activities will be allowed only outdoors near your home and individually.
