Another black day for Covid in Puglia: in the last 24 hours the bulletin records 1,245 new cases (of 8,825 swabs equivalent to 14%), 25 deaths and a leap forward in hospitalizations that reach 1,147, 63 more than yesterday (131 beds employed in intensive care). The Foggia area continues to be the most affected area, especially in terms of victims and the percentage of infections.

Of the 1,245 new cases, just under half –579 – are located in the province of Bari, 79 in the province of Brindisi, 62 in the province of BAT, 318 in the province of Foggia, 59 in the province of Lecce , 131 in the province of Taranto, 17 cases of residents outside the region.

As for Bari, the health counselor, prof. Pier Luigi Lopalco states that “The high number of cases registered today in the province of Bari is linked to a retrieval of information by the Polyclinic laboratory, referring to samples analyzed in the last five days.” However, the number of data referring to this “realignment” is not specified.

The 25 victims are mainly concentrated in Foggiano (17), followed by 3 in the province of Bari, 3 in the province of Taranto, 2 residents outside the region.

Meanwhile, RSAs continue to present themselves as the exposed nerve. Although in Alberobello the death of the eighth guest of the Giovanni XXIII nursing home was recorded, the new outbreak comes from Manfredonia, where there are 34 positives in the Anna Rizzi nursing home: of these, 23 of the 24 guests of the structure.

147 people healed in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 7,921. The positives currently in Puglia are 18,821, 94% of which are in home isolation.
