The mayors of Alta Valle have written an open letter to all those involved in various capacities in services for young people to actively collaborate so that the anti-contagion norms are respected. The goal is to limit the spread of covid-19, which has already forced several people to self-quarantine after some students tested positive on the swab.
Limit the risk of spreading the virus.
We are living moments of apprehension about the real difficulty of containing the spread of the coronavirus infection in this new phase that sees the resumption of school activity. We are sure of the commitment made by all school personnel to limit the risk of spreading the virus; however, we are equally aware that we cannot afford to delegate all emergency management to the school. The children share classrooms, but many of them remain in close contact even in transportation. The trip home and back on public buses represents, therefore, a critical and delicate moment for the transmission of the virus: even at this juncture, as well as at school, it is important to implement active surveillance so that children scrupulously respect anti-Covid regulations. The same happens with sports activities and with the many opportunities for meeting and socializing that young people experience throughout the day.
You need the most attention
For this reason, we ask all those who, for various reasons, are involved in the management of services dedicated to children and youth, to pay the utmost attention to ensure that all anti-contagion regulations are respected. We are all called to collaborate in monitoring the behavior of young people, for their good and for the entire community.
We renew the invitation to parents to help their children understand the importance of following ministerial instructions and, above all, to always wear a mask when there is no interpersonal distance. The obligation to wear the mask correctly does not expire outside the school building.
This particular moment requires a solidarity sensitivity and effective collaboration between institutional bodies, families, associations of all kinds, all equally responsible for the protection of health. Only a joint effort will allow us to overcome health difficulties and consolidate the social fabric of our communities.Bormio, October 2, 2020
