Outbreak at Movin’Up in via Svevo, the owner is also positive. Tracking facilitated by the booking admissions formula
TRIESTE An outbreak with more than 30 positives was identified in a gym in Trieste, the Movin’Up in via Svevo. The facility has been closed since early October after the swab that confirmed the first Covid case: Since then Asugi has verified operators and users, exposing an epicenter of significant proportions.
The president and legal manager of the gym, Christian zidarich, recounts the dynamics of the events: «Since September 30 I was in self-isolation because of what I believed was an influence – he explains -. Then, on Saturday, October 3, I received communication from one of our members, a nurse, of her positivity to the coronavirus: she called me saying that the Prevention Department would contact me ”. The person in charge of the facility continues: “On Sunday we were closed, so on Monday morning I managed to contact the Department on my own initiative. Initially they told me not to be alarmed because the person seemed to have come into contact with few students, and that they would have made an inspection. Then, Movin ‘Up provided a list of the dozen people who had attended a course with the nurse on Friday night: “We had the data because now the courses are only accessible by reservation,” says Zidarich. In any case, we decided to close on Tuesday, although they did not force it on us.
A few days before the nurse’s communication, the manager himself had submitted to the hyssop, which after the gym closed was positive: “At that time I contacted all the people who attended the courses from September 28 to September 5. October”. explains Zidarich.
From that moment, therefore, swabs began on all limbs: initially the positives seemed to be 10 to 15, but with the accumulation of the results the number increased considerably. Zidarich concludes: “I would like to emphasize that we have always followed the rules: Asugi’s inspection did not reveal any irregularities, and I honestly don’t think anyone has come to the gym with symptoms.”
Says one of the gym clients, who tested positive for the swab: “I think there is bad luck. Rules were always followed and tools were sanitized from time to time. Probably – he continues – we get an asymptomatic. As soon as the problem arose, we were notified and the managers voluntarily closed the gym. I’m fine, I understand that someone has had a fever, but no one is very sick.
The Region, which had never reported the Movin’Up case in the daily infection and tampon reports, yesterday confirmed the consistency of the outbreak identified earlier in the month. The regional vice president with responsibility for health Riccardo riccardi says, “We have more than thirty positive results now.” According to the exponent of the Fedriga board, in any case, the episode does not justify drastic measures for the gyms: “It is not about finding the culprits, but about examining the phenomena as they arise from time to time. Our orientation is that economic activities must be protected, complying with safety regulations.
Finally, the mayor of Trieste comments: Roberto Dipiazza: “I didn’t know about this particular case, but the advice I can give everyone is to respect all regional ordinances and government decrees. With a little caution and foresight we can also get out of this terrible situation. –
