Thirty-five people fined and two business activities suspended: it is the budget of anti-covid checks carried out last night and at night by the police of the Provincial Command of Naples. 340 soldiers were employed in the city and in the province; 1260 people controlled and 458 companies inspected. The police carried out, during the controls in the nightlife areas, a work of convincing for a responsible adherence by citizens (adults and children) to the rules to prevent the spread of the virus. Of the 35 people sanctioned, 8 were fined in the city center and in the Decumani area. Instead, two places were sanctioned because they were found open despite the prohibition imposed by recent regulations against covid. One of them is in the port of Ischia, where a 31-year-old was punished for not wearing a mask. During the operations, the military also carried out services aimed at combating widespread illegality and drug trafficking. This is the case of the carabinieri of the Compagnia di Napoli centro who – in Piazza Bellini – arrested a 20-year-old young man from the Gambia for drug trafficking, arrested while selling marijuana to a young Italian. The 20-year-old, under house arrest pending trial, was found in possession of other packages containing the same drug and ready for sale for a total weight of 9 grams.
