In all of Italy 2,500 positives in 24 hours: never so many in five months
In Sicily 156 infections have been registered in the last 24 hours. The current positives thus amount to 2,936 and 327 hospitalized: 20 in intensive care, 307 in ordinary hospitalization. There are 2,609 patients in home isolation. The swabs made were 6,637. Even today there is a new victim bringing the total to 312. It is a 72-year-old man from Palermo. Those cured in the last hours are 85. In terms of territorial distribution, there are 88 new positives in Palermo, 20 in the provinces of Catania and Ragusa, 10 in Messina, 6 in Trapani, 5 in Agrigento, 5 in Syracuse and 2 in Caltanissetta . There are no new positives at Enna.
In the rest of Italy, Covid 19 infections are splashing: 2,548 new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours, an increase that had not occurred in more than five months and that was identified with a record number of swabs: 118,236, some 13,000 more than yesterday. The total number of people infected since the beginning of the emergency amounts to 317,409. The increase in the number of victims also dates back to: 24 in one day, compared to 16 yesterday, for a total of 35,918.
There are currently 52,647 positives for Covid 19 in Italy, 1,384 more than on Wednesday. Data from the Ministry of Health also confirm the growth of hospitalized patients: today there are 291 people in intensive care, 11 more in the last 24, while in ordinary wards there are 3,095, fifty more than yesterday. Instead, the total number of people discharged and recovered rose to 228,844 with an increase of 1,140 in one day. (HANDLE).
