Covid: 37,978 new infections, 636 deaths – Last minute

(ANSA) – ROME, NOVEMBER 12 – There are 37,978 new coronavirus infections in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The victims are 636. The total number of cases identified since the beginning of the epidemic amounts to 1,066,401, while the deaths are now 43,589. In a single day there was not such a high number of victims since last April 6, even in that case there were 636.

There is still a record for tampons in the last 24 hours in Italy: 234,672 were made on the last day, about 9,000 more than yesterday. The ratio between positives and tests returns to 16.18%, almost 2% more than yesterday.

There are 89 more patients in intensive care for Covid in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health. Now there are 3,170 people in intensive care. Patients with symptoms in ordinary Covid wards in Italy have increased by 429 units in the last 24 hours and are now 29,873. There are 602,011 people in home isolation (+21,178). The positives are currently 635,054 (+21,696), those healed and discharged are 387,758 (+15,645).

Lombardy continues to be the region with the highest increase in new cases in the last 24 hours, which, according to the latest bulletin, is 9,291. They are followed by Piedmont (4,787), Campania (4,065), Veneto (3,564), Lazio (2,686), Emilia Romagna (2,402) and Tuscany (1,932).
