BERTIOLO. A child infected with the virus, his companions in isolation, such as the teacher. And the school section closed since yesterday. It occurs in Bertiolo, just under 2,500 inhabitants in Middle Friuli. “We were and we are prepared, the situation is under control”, assures the mayor, Eleonora Viscardis.
At the beginning of September, the first day of kindergarten, a restart expected and prepared in the “Sacro Cuore” kindergarten, directed by the priest Don Davide Gani. About sixty children, ages two and a half to six, spend half a day in class, all at home for lunch. A child in the afternoon shows signs of discomfort, has a little cold. The parents, according to the antivirus protocol, communicate with the school and the next day the child stays at home. To return to kindergarten, you need a certificate from the pediatrician, who, however, suggests that you take a swab before taking the baby back to the mother.
The Covid era requires prudence and rigor. Wednesday night’s test result is positive. From the first moment, the school and the family are followed by the health authority. The “Sacro Cuore” is organized from the Spring section upwards. The little one who contracted the virus spent half a day in contact with a teacher and a score of classmates. They have all been home since yesterday. And the health authority, according to protocol, yesterday afternoon swabbed the children from the infected child’s section and the teacher. The results will be in the next few hours. The section is closed and will not be reopened prior to the test results.
Viscardis is calm, thanks to the work done by the school. “I am very sorry that this first case has occurred, but we were and are ready for such an event – explains the mayor -. Not only. We will continue to be prepared and know how to intervene, even in the other complexes that will start next week. Because, it is good to say it without drama but with the certainty of who knows what to do, it could happen again during the school year. Thanks to the organization and continuous monitoring also of the health company, we will know how to act. So we are calm. And that is why the health authority has established that today other children can return to class.
In addition to the positivity of the child in a nursery in Bertiolo, there are contagions between some clients of a Sappada hotel and the 8 elderly (some asymptomatic) in a nursing home in Trieste. “Health surveillance remains very high – explains the regional health advisor Riccardo Riccardi – with a substantial number of tampons and therefore we can identify numerous cases”.
In Sappada, in particular, the presence of Covid 19 in a family hotel was detected among some vacationers. All clients present in the structure were subjected to the swab, the result of which is expected in the next few hours. The hotel remains open, but the clients who were staying have returned to their homes.
