There are 17,752 positive coronavirus swabs in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to Civil Protection data. The coronavirus swabs made in Italy in the last 24 hours were 199,489, an increase of about 35,000 compared to yesterday, when 164,431 were registered, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The positivity rate (positive swab rate, including repeat and control) is 8.8%, slightly lower than yesterday’s 9%.

There are 2,926 patients in intensive care for Covid-19 in Italy, a decrease of 77 units in the general balance between inputs and outputs compared to yesterday. The daily admissions to resuscitation were 191, according to data from the Ministry of Health. There are 26,897 people hospitalized in ordinary wards, 445 units less than the day before.

The number of intensive care units occupied in Italy by Covid patients drops to 35%, still 5% above the alert threshold. The improvement trend also continues in departments, where Covid beds fall to 42%, or 2% above the critical threshold, which is exceeded by 5 regions less than a week ago. This is demonstrated by the data from the National Agency for Regional Health Services (Agenas) of December 15, which show, for both indices, a decrease of -3% compared to a week ago: on Tuesday, December 8, in fact, the use of resuscitations was 38% and that of beds 45%.
