TUSCANY – In Tuscany there are 119,696 cases of positivity for the coronavirus, 460 more than yesterday. New cases are 0.4% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew 0.7% and reached 106,304 (88.8% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,872,240, 11,236 more than yesterday, of which 4.1% positive. On the other hand, 3,346 subjects were analyzed today (excluding control swabs), of which 13.7% were positive. To these are added the 4,817 rapid antigenic swabs made today. The current positives are 9,737 today, -2.8% compared to yesterday. There are 1,029 hospitalized (7 less than yesterday), of which 160 are in intensive care (3 more).
Today there are 23 new deaths: 8 men and 15 women with an average age of 83 years.
These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region.
The average age of 460 cases today is around 48 years old (14% are under 20, 24% between 20 and 39, 29% between 40 and 59, 21% between 60 and 79, 12% are 80 years or older) .
It should be remembered that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 33,365 total cases to date in Florence (131 more than yesterday), 10,355 in Prato (20 more), 10,413 in Pistoia (10 more), 7,630 in Massa-Carrara (12 more: 8 in Carrara, 1 in Massa, 1 in Montignoso, 1 in Fivizzano and 1 in Fosdinovo), 12,465 in Lucca (57 more), 16,661 in Pisa (59 more), 8,582 in Livorno (43 more), 10,562 in Arezzo (56 more), 4,933 in Siena (51 more), 4,175 in Grosseto (21 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.
There are 171 cases found today in the ASL Center, 161 in the Northwest, 128 in the Southeast.
Tuscany ranks 12th in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 3,209 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 3,425 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 4,018 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,976, Massa Carrara with 3,915, the lowest Siena with 1,846.
In total, 8,708 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (271 fewer than yesterday, less 3%). There are 19,068 (693 fewer than yesterday, less 3.5%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance because they have had contact with infected people (ASL Center 5,161, Northwest 10,200, Southeast 3,707).
The people admitted to the beds dedicated to COVID patients today are a total of 1,029 (7 less than yesterday, less 0.7%), 160 in intensive care (3 more than yesterday, more 1.9%).
In total there are 106,304 people cured (715 more than yesterday, plus 0.7%): 476 clinically cured people (33 more than yesterday, plus 7.4%), that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 105,828 (682 more than yesterday, plus 0.6%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with a negative swab.
Unfortunately, today there are 23 new deaths: 8 men and 15 women with an average age of 83 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 12 in Florence, 1 in Massa-Carrara (90-year-old male), 1 in Lucca, 4 in Pisa, 1 in Livorno, 3 in Siena, 1 in Grosseto.
3,655 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 1,240 in Florence, 246 in Prato, 273 in Pistoia, 386 in Massa Carrara, 336 in Lucca, 421 in Pisa, 268 in Livorno, 216 in Arezzo, 125 in Siena , 90 in Grosseto, 54 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.
Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 98.0 x 100,000 residents versus 121.0 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (198.1 x100,000), Florence (122.6 x100,000) and Pisa (100.5 x100,000), the lowest in Grosseto (40.6 x 100,000).
THE SITUATION IN USL TNO HOSPITALS
Regarding hospitalizations for “Covid-19”, in the hospitals of the Northwest Tuscany company USL there are a total of 296 (yesterday there were 310), of which 33 (yesterday 35) in intensive care. 49 patients were admitted to the Livorno hospital, 7 of whom were in intensive care. In the Lucca hospital 51 patients, of which 4 in intensive care. In the Apuane hospital, 57 were hospitalized (-2 compared to yesterday), of which 14 were in intensive care (stable). 88 patients at the Versilia hospital, 3 of them in intensive care. In the Pontedera hospital, 29 patients, 2 of them in intensive care. In Cecina hospital 21 patients, 3 of them in intensive care. The hospitalized at Barga 1 hospital.
