Eight new cases of coronavirus in the province of Prato in the last 24 hours (7 in Prato and 1 in Carmignano): never such a low number, although it is necessary to relate it to the limited number of swabs performed. The number of infections amounts to 10,316. The list of deaths is also getting longer: there are two victims, both from Prato. They are a 72-year-old woman who died in Santo Stefano hospital and a 77-year-old man who died in his own home. Thus, the number of victims rises to 246. These are the data from Prato contained in the bulletin released by the Region today, Monday, December 28, to take stock of the progress of the epidemic. In Tuscany there are 181 new cases (the total number is 118,965) and 29 deaths (total 3,617). The latest victims are 18 men and 11 women with an average age of 79 years.
The swabs performed in the last 24 hours are 3,674 with a positivity of 4.9 percent; Excluding the control swabs, 1,325 people tested with a positivity equal to 13.7 percent.
After days of constant decline, the number of patients admitted to Tuscan hospitals is rising again: 1,054, 42 more than yesterday; of these they are also part of the 164 in intensive care, one less. 88 patients are hospitalized in the Covid area of the Santo Stefano hospital (5 more than yesterday), and 5 in intensive care (one less). In the old hospital there are 27 patients, 40 in the La Melagrana center, 21 in Villa Fiorita and 3 in Pegaso.
The number of cures continues to increase: in the last 24 hours, 668 have been declared among viral, that is, patients, whose control swab has given negative results, and clinics, that is, patients, who have become asymptomatic.
To date, Tuscany has 9,230 people in isolation because they are positive but with symptoms that do not require hospital treatment, and almost 19,800 people in isolation because they had direct contact with subjects suffering from coronavirus.
