“In an absolutely constructive spirit, I will work to comply with these provisions of the Scientific Technical Committee, in which I absolutely trust. I will work so that the limits are respected.” Thus, the president of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani, commented yesterday afternoon on Radio 1 on the decision of Minister Roberto Speranza to include Tuscany in the orange zone as of Wednesday, November 11.
“I do not consider it a ranking to enter one of the other areas, but the most correct way to face the situation of the pandemic – continued Giani- Italy is the country that, compared to the European continent, is in a lower worst. We should not feel this, therefore, as a setback for our country and our regions. As far as our situation is concerned, there is no criticality in the 21 parameters but especially in the RT, in the transmission index. We are trying to do everything possible to create new beds, so every day with an inspection I identify others. This is the level at which we must intervene more, the fact of create more hospital beds. Even more than intensive care, it is ordinary patients that weigh on our hospital system ”, concluded the governor.
As of tomorrow, therefore, November 11, Tuscany enters the orange band with stricter limitations to try to stop the contagion curve and relieve the pressure on the health system.
Here are the planned measures in the orange zone:
– It is forbidden to leave the Municipality and Region itself, except for work reasons, studies, health and needs, which will be indicated in the self-certification form.
– Bars, restaurants and patisseries are closed 24 hours a day, with the exception of catering services and canteens. Take away food service granted (only until 10pm and with prohibition to consume on site or nearby) and home delivery.
– There remains face-to-face teaching for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. Distance learning for high school students.
– Universities closed, except for some activities for first-year students and laboratories.
– In public transport the capacity is reduced to 50%, with the exception of school transport.
– Gyms, swimming pools and wellness centers remain closed.
– Museums and exhibitions, theaters and cinemas remain closed. The activities of betting rooms, bingo and slot machines also suspended in tobacconists.
– Shopping centers are closed on holidays and the eve of holidays (with the exception of pharmacies and parapharmacies, food points, kiosks and tobacconists inside).
It will be necessary self certification (which in the yellow zone was used during the curfew from 10 to 5 in the morning) to move outside their municipality in order to certify the proven needs for work, study, health and needs that therefore allow them to move.
