Coronavirus infections in Italy decrease slightly: in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Civil Protection website, 1,501 new cases have been registered, while yesterday there were 1,616. The total number of infected people, including victims and those cured, is 286,297. The number of victims decreased today, 6 compared to 10 yesterday, for a total of 35,603 deaths since the start of the pandemic. Those healed and discharged are a total of 213,191, compared to +759 yesterday. More than 92,000 swabs were taken compared to 98,880 the day before.
A jump in hospitalizations under the ordinary regime, 102 more, for a total of 1,951, while the increase in intensive care is more contained, +7 reaching 182. Patients with symptoms are now 1,951 (+1,002 compared to yesterday) , in home isolation there are 35,370 people (+627). The positives currently increase by 736 and are now 37,503.

As yesterday, even today there is no region with zero cases: the most constant increase is registered in Lombardy, 269 new infections, followed by Lazio (155), Emilia Romagna, Veneto and Tuscany (all 138). Who does it better is the Aosta Valley, which today has an increase (+1) over 34 current cases, for a total of 1,258 infections since the start of the pandemic. Veneto (3), Emilia Romagna (1), Lazio (1) and Sardinia (1) report deaths within 24 hours.

A new case of positivity in Valle d’Aosta compared to the 106 swabs made. Virologically cured patients are 27,145 (+53 compared to yesterday). Deaths are still 4,153. Therefore, the total is still 4,153.

Today in Lombardy there have been 269 cases, of which 37 ‘weakly positive’ and 15 after serological tests, and zero deaths. In total, the number of deaths remains stable at 16,896. The swabs performed were 16,493 (total 1,810,149) with a relation regarding infections of 1.6%; while 293 were cured / discharged (total 77,611, of which 1,366 were discharged and 76,245 recovered). Intensive care patients remain stable at 27, while hospitalized patients amount to 251 (+5).
Regarding the provinces, 102 cases occurred in Milan (61 of which in the city), 32 in Monza, 24 in Brescia and Bergamo, 12 in Como, 11 in Lecco and Mantua, 7 in Pavia, 6 in Cremona 3 in Lodi and nobody in Sondrio.

In the last 24 hours, the laboratories of the South Tyrol health authority made 1,542 swabs. 25 new positive cases were registered. There are 1,453 people in home isolation, of which 60 have returned from Croatia, Greece, Spain or Malta. The number of patients in normal hospital wards increases from 8 to 13 and the Covid intensive care unit is reopened, which now houses one patient.

A dozen infections have been detected among the workers of a dairy company, the ‘Cepparo’, in the province of Udine, after starting a screening among the workers. There are 92 hospitalized (3 more than yesterday), of which 18 in intensive care (1 more). Today there are no new deaths. The average age of 138 cases today is 42 years.
Umbria
After days of growth, the number of Covid patients admitted to Umbrian hospitals registered a decrease, although only in one unit, from 23 to 22, four (stable figure in intensive care). In the last day – it is clear from the updated data of the Region – 33 new cases were registered, 2,042 in total, nine recovered, 1,537 and no deaths, 81. The positives currently go from 400 to 424. In Sardinia, 2,841 cases have been detected since the beginning of the emergency. In the latest update of the Regional Crisis Unit, 51 new cases were registered.
