There is still an increase in Tuscany of new positive cases of coronavirus. In the last twenty-four hours, 548 have been found and 11,237 swabs have been made. Yesterday there were 483 new cases, with 10,781 swabs. The number of people admitted to intensive care is stable (30), today there are no deaths.
For several days the number of new cases has been increasing considerably: just think, for example, that in less than two weeks, on September 29, there were 56 new cases, although, it must be said, less than half swabs, only 4,731. Today’s data is more detailed below.
Towards a new Dpcm
In Tuscany, the cases of positivity for the coronavirus amount to 17,643, in fact 548 more than yesterday (430 identified in the course of the screening and 118 of the screening activities), since the beginning of the epidemic, also considered cured and dead.
Those cured reached 10,830 (61.4% of all cases). The tests carried out reached 828,114, 11,237 more than yesterday. The percentage of positives among the 7,878 people examined today is 7%. The current positives are 5,640 today, + 10.1% compared to yesterday. There are 190 hospitalized (20 more than yesterday), of which 30 in intensive care (stable). Today there are no new deaths.

These are the data – verified today at 12 o’clock based on requests from the National Civil Protection – regarding the advance of the epidemic in the region.
The average age of 548 cases at present is approximately 41 years (20% are under 20, 25% between 20 and 39, 37% between 40 and 59, 14% between 60 and 79, 4% are 80 years or older ).
It should be remembered that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health changed the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change compared to yesterday: there are 4,998 total cases to date in Florence (150 more than yesterday), 1,177 in Prato (83 more), 1,203 in Pistoia (33 more), 1,625 in Massa (13 more), 2,141 in Lucca (63 more), 2,136 in Pisa (103 more), 892 in Livorno (22 more), 1,462 in Arezzo (39 more), 791 in Siena (31 more), 668 in Grosseto (11 more). There are 550 positive cases reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.
RSA outbreak: cases quadrupled in one day
Therefore, there are 266 cases found today in the ASL Center, 201 in the northwest, 81 in the southeast.
Tuscany is confirmed in tenth place in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 473 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average around 570 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Massa Carrara with 834 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Lucca with 552, Pisa with 510, Livorno with 266 the lowest.
In total, 5,450 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (499 more than yesterday, 10.1% more).
There are 12,434 (738 more than yesterday, plus 6.3%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (ASL Center 4,382, Northwest 5,109, Southeast 2,943).
The people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to COVID patients today are a total of 190 (20 more than yesterday, plus 11.8%), 30 in intensive care (stable compared to yesterday).

In total there are 10,830 people cured (29 more than yesterday, plus 0.3%): 370 clinically cured people (stable compared to yesterday), that is, they were asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection and 10,460 (29 more compared to yesterday, plus 0.3%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.
There are 1,173 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 423 in Florence, 54 in Prato, 84 in Pistoia, 181 in Massa Carrara, 149 in Lucca, 97 in Pisa, 65 in Livorno, 53 in Arezzo, 33 in Siena , 25 in Grosseto, 9 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

The Tuscan crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 31.5 x 100,000 residents versus 59.8 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (92.9 x 100 000), Florence (41.8 x 100 000) and Lucca (38.4 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (11.3 x 100,000).
