Bologna, September 22, 2020 – Significant decline coronavirus cases in Emilia Romagna. The number of cases of return from other regions is 5. While the average age of new positives today is 43. Unfortunately, there is a new death: a 90-year-old man from the province of Piacenza.
Active, isolated and cured cases
Active cases, that is, the number of actual patients, to date there are 4,633 (15 more than those registered yesterday). People isolated at home, or those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment, or are asymptomatic, are a total of 4,426 (2 less than yesterday), 96% of active cases. There are 22 (-1 compared to yesterday) patients in intensive care, 185 (+18) hospitalized in other Covid departments. People generally healed reached 25,400 (+39 compared to yesterday): 7 “clinically cured”, that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection, and 25,393 declared them completely cured because they were negative in two consecutive tests.
About the situation in the territory, the highest number of cases is registered in the provinces of Bologna (14) and Reggio Emilia (13).
The cases in Bologna
In Bologna and its province there are 14 new positive cases: 11 refer to known outbreaks of family origin, 3 are sporadic. Of the total, 3 were identified thanks to contact tracing, 2 returned from abroad (Venezuela), 2 from other regions (Veneto and Sardinia), while 7 swabs in the presence of symptoms.
The positives of Reggio Emilia
In Reggio Emilia and its province there are 13 new cases: 5 were identified as contacts of cases already known in the family, 1 was diagnosed when returning from abroad (Spain), 2 cases are sporadic, 1 of which dates back to a school, 1 from a swab made in a private laboratory, 2 attributable to occupational outbreaks and 2 imported from other regions (Lazio and Lombardy).

These are the cases of positivity in the area, which do not refer to the province of residence, but to the one in which the diagnosis was made: 4,974 in Piacenza (+7, of which 5 symptomatic), 4197 in Parma (+ 4, of which 3 symptomatic), 5,717 in Reggio Emilia (+13, of which 10 symptomatic), 4,824 in Modena (+1, symptomatic), 6,129 in Bologna (+14, of which 8 symptomatic), 553 in Imola (no new cases), 1,400 in Ferrara (+5, of which 3 symptomatic), 1,747 in Ravenna (+1, symptomatic), 1,315 in Forlì (+8, of which 3 symptomatic), 1,102a Cesena (+ 3, of which 2 symptomatic), 2,553 in Rimini (no new cases).
New infections in Italy are decreasing, 1,350 cases today against 1,587 yesterday, in parallel, however, with the few swabs, as always on Monday: 55,862 against 83,428 yesterday (and the peaks of more than 100,000 in recent days). The deaths increased slightly, 17 today (yesterday they were 15), while the growth of the cured slows down, 352 today against 635 yesterday. This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health.
The Region opens two calls for the training course that will create 173 new GPs in Emilia Romagna. Of these, 95 places are covered by a scholarship. It is the measure launched by the Region to reinforce a level of monitoring considered essential in the fight against the coronavirus. Currently, primary care physicians operating in Emilia-Romagna there are 2.901 of which 747 in the AUSL of Romagna, 573 Bologna, 468 Modena, 310 Reggio Emilia, 280 Parma, 245 Ferrara, 184 Piacenza, 94 Imola local health authority.
Along with Bologna airport, it has also reopened the buffer point for those arriving from risk areas. However, the ambulatory created by Ausl has changed location: it has moved to the tents installed by Civil Protection in the bus yard. Starting today, even those returning from different areas of France, including Paris, must undergo swabbing, as ordered by the Ministry of Health.
