New coronavirus infections in Sicily remain constant compared to yesterday: according to the Ministry of Health bulletin, there are 730 new cases on the island of the 8,015 swabs processed (9.1 the percentage of positive tests). However, nationally, the situation appears to be out of control with more than 19,000 new cases.
Remaining in Sicily, another 11 deaths are registered, bringing the total number of victims since the beginning of the pandemic to 408. The good news is that hospitalizations are slowing down: there are only four more than yesterday (593 patients in the hospital with symptoms), when instead in recent days the increase was 20/30 units every 24 hours. The current positives on the island are, therefore, 9,136, of these 8,454 are in home isolation without symptoms or with mild symptoms.
Let’s go into details about the provinces. The one in Palermo continues to be the most affected with 204 new cases. Then there are Catania (188), Messina (74), Trapani (77), Ragusa (117), Siracusa (11), Enna (7), Caltanissetta (26) and Agrigento (26).
