104 new infections have been discovered in the last 24 hours in the 4,212 swabs processed (there were 106 new cases yesterday but with 400 more swabs). This is the most significant data that emerges from the new bulletin of the Ministry of Health today, Friday, September 11, 2020 on the situation of Covid. In total, 17 people are hospitalized in intensive care (yesterday there were 18).
“The Region of Sicily has communicated – they explain from the Ministry of Health – that of the 104 new positives today, 11 are migrant guests on the ship Azzurra in the port of Augusta”. On the front of the territorial division, Western Sicily still has the highest number of cases with 36 in the Palermo area and 31 in the Trapani area. Then there is the province of Catania with 12 infections and that of Syracuse always with 12 (11 are migrants). Ragusa and Messina each follow with 5 new cases, Enna with 2 and Agrigento with only one new case.
These are the most outstanding numbers: 112 hospitalized with symptoms, 1,577 people in home isolation. The total of current positives amounts to 1,706 while that of discharged or cured amounts to 3,141. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now 5,136. The good news is that even today there are no deaths (the total number of deceased people remains stagnant at 289.

In Italy in the last 24 hours there have been 1,616 new cases and 10 deaths. Looking at the whole week, it stands out that on average 1,450 cases are detected per day (+ 9.9% more than 7 days ago) while there are on average 11 deaths of patients with positive coronavirus, an increase of 50%.
