Daily deaths from coronavirus in Italy are decreasing: in the last twenty-four hours there have been 564 victims. Yesterday there were 662, Friday 814, Thursday 993 in the death register since the start of the pandemic. This is what emerges from the daily Coronavirus bulletin issued by Civil Protection and the Ministry of Health. In Sicily the new positives are 1,022 (yesterday they were 1,240) compared to 8,132 swabs. The percentage of positives in swabs performed is therefore 12.5%. Yesterday it was 11.4.

The current infected on the island are 39,746. Since the beginning of the pandemic, coronavirus cases in Sicily have risen to 71,489. It is also worth noting 780 recovered. Today there are 1,367 hospitalized patients with symptoms. There are 213 patients in intensive care, with two beds less occupied than yesterday. The new entries were 8 (yesterday instead of 12). The total number of people in the hospital is 1,580. The number of positives in home isolation exceeds the ceiling of 38,000: 38,166 to be exact. There are another 36 victims, a figure that brings the total since the start of the pandemic to 1,759.

As for the subdivision of the new cases in the Sicilian territory, 289 are in Palermo. In Catania 413, in Messina 82, in Ragusa 40, in Trapani 34, in Syracuse 55, in Agrigento 24, in Caltanissetta 29 and in Enna 56.

18,887 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours out of a total of 163,550 swabs. Yesterday there were 21,052 infections with the highest number of tests (194,984). The positivity rate goes back to 11.5% (+ 0.8%). The number of hospitalized patients with symptoms increased (+233) after yesterday’s significant decline. On the other hand, patients admitted to intensive care units continue to decrease: -63.
