On the last day of 2020, new infections of coronavirus keep going up. How it keeps growing the positivity index. The index that measures the relationship between positives and tests, therefore grows by three points and is at 12.6%. Numbers increasing as they were recorded yesterday 16,202 new cases with a contagion / buffer ratio of 9.6%, in turn 0.9% compared to the previous days.
Figures on the rise in Reanimation – In addition, since yesterday, there are another 555 deaths that bring the total of victims to 74,159 since the beginning of the emergency. In 2020, therefore, the coronavirus killed almost 75,000 people. The prisoners also rise again intensive care, with an increase of 27 patients compared to the previous day and a total of 2,555 units. Those recovered are 1,463,111, with 17,421 people who have overcome the virus in the last 24 hours. The positives are currently also increasing and are 569,896 (+5,501 from yesterday). In total, to date, there have been 26,598,607 swabs.
Veneto region with the most infections – As for the most infected regions, the first in the ranking is the Veneto with 4,800 new cases registered in the last 24 hours. They follow the Lombardy with 3,859 new cases and Emilia romagna with 2,116 positives more than yesterday. 1,767 infections were recorded in Lazio, 1,554 in Campania, 1,417 in Piedmont, in Sicily 1,299.
