President Nino Spirlì
Time to read two Minutes
CATANZARO – The increase in infections is worrying and Acting President Nino Spirlì is ready to close Calabria with an order that must step on those already issued by Lombardy and Campania.
The indiscretion leaked into the night, also supported by an audio message sent by the President of the Region to advisers and councilors. The message soon made the rounds of the chats, becoming the basis of comparison.
The hypotheses of the measures on which Spirlì works foresee a duration of two weeks, with a night closure of 24 to 5. The choice with respect to schools is also drastic: distance education for secondary and secondary schools, while in presence for schoolchildren, primary schools and kindergartens.
Family members of hospital patients will no longer be able to enter the facilities, regardless of the type of facility in which the patient is hospitalized. The rule also applies to facilities that house older people. Limitations will also be made on non-urgent specialist visits, while clinics for visits with important specialists such as oncology or similar will remain open.
Spirlì wanted to inform everyone before a decision that should arrive by Friday or Saturday at the latest. The president spoke about it with his staff throughout the day today, until the decision to inform all the main institutions, starting with the mayors of the big cities, all the majority and minority politicians, all the groups present in the Council Regional.
The option is to “save” the Christmas holidays: “We are in the winter months – Spirlì stressed – there is not much movement, but this could be an indicative limitation”. The objective, therefore, is “to understand if we can block this advance of infections, with a time sufficiently far from the future Christmas period and that it allows us to reduce infections and foresee a repetition where necessary long before quoting”. Crafts and all kinds of services can be prepared for the Christmas period. It is not easy to make these decisions, but it is urgent to help our health ».
The president defined his elections as “small important decisions that will serve to monitor the trend of infections in fifteen days”, taking into account “the high rate of contagion that is increasing at an average, for our latitudes, a bit vertiginous.”
Obviously the restrictions on which Spirlì is working are the basis of a comparison still in progress, so it cannot be ruled out that they may undergo some changes. But the president is convinced and believes that action must be taken before it is too late.
