The result must be communicated to the treating physician before 11 pm on the same day: while the lessons are awaited, the child subjected to the swab “must remain in isolation”, as specified by the Region. If the child is positive, from the next day the classmates will be quarantined, as well as the teachers who, with the infected student, have had contact in the previous 48 hours.

Because if it is true that, on paper, the results of the swabs must arrive on the same day, the cases of delays, With entire families blocked waiting for the report, they are a reality, also considering the super work that regional laboratories are subjected to: in the 24 hours between Monday and Tuesday 14,808 swabs were processed, of which 182 were positive (1, 22 percent). In addition, as of yesterday, those arriving from France have to be examined, as ordered by the Ministry of Health: controls are carried out in Linate and Malpensa, as is already the case with those arriving from Croatia, Spain, Greece and Malta. Just yesterday, there were more than 400 passengers arriving from beyond the Alps, between Linate and Varerino airport. But the numbers, over the weekend, are bound to grow, as is the amount of analysis: the system is ultimately under stress. And the possible drawbacks are behind the corner.
