With the 485 cases recorded in the latest epidemiological bulletin, the number cap has been exceeded six thousand current positives in Puglia, people who are dealing with Covid19 or who have left it behind, but are waiting for the negative result of the swab. The virus, which travels an average of 300 infections per day, crushing 2,000 cases in a week, continues to circulate, putting pressure on the precious work contact tracking of Health Promotion Departments that have difficulties in conducting useful epidemiological investigations to reconstruct the chain of contacts.

The important thing, at this delicate moment, is to try to stop the contagion curve that continues to rise, respecting the rules. Otherwise, “firm decisions” will have to be taken and the Region seems ready to do so, as announced by Councilor Pierluigi Lopalco.

It is true that the data is worrying, especially the province of Bari which has the highest number of daily cases. As indicated in the bulletin Today there have been more than 5,651 tests for Covid-19 infection 485 positive cases178 in the province of Bari, which also has one death, 22 in the province of Brindisi, 53 in the province BAT, 132 in the province of Foggia, 19 in the province of Lecce, 83 in the province of Taranto. Two cases of unknown residence have been reclassified and attributed.

The numbers on hand are 5886 recovered patients. 6279 are currently positive cases.

The total of positive cases of Covid in Puglia is 12,810, divided as follows:

  • 5361 in the province of Bari
  • 1213 in the province of Bat
  • 955 in the province of Brindisi
  • 3043 in the province of Foggia
  • 993 in the province of Lecce
  • 1147 in the province of Taranto
  • 94 attributed to residents outside the region
  • 4 province of unknown residence.

Lopalco: “Avoid any possibility of contagion”

“Unfortunately, the growth forecasts for the epidemic curve in the middle of the week are confirmed. The high number of cases today is also supported by the steady increase in positives in the province of Taranto. Currently, the situation in the area is under control thanks to the enormous effort of resources made by the prevention departments. Our call continues to be strong to avoid any possibility of contagion in the family and work context ”, declared Professor Lopalco.
