BARI – Covid 19 infections continue to increase in Puglia: out of 2,753 tests for the infection, 65 positive cases were recorded: 56 only in the province of Bari, 3 in the province BAT, 5 in the province of Foggia, 1 in the province of Lecce. There were no cases in Brindisi and Taranto. Fortunately, no deaths were recorded.
Since the beginning of the emergency, 300,338 tests have been performed and 4,029 patients have been recovered. Instead, 748 are currently positive cases. The total of positive Covid cases in Puglia is 5,333, divided as follows: 1,821 in the province of Bari; 432 in the province of Bat; 705 in the province of Brindisi; 1,357 in the province of Foggia; 668 in the province of Lecce; 309 in the province of Taranto; 38 attributed to residents outside the region; 3 unknown province.
The APL prevention departments have activated all the procedures for the acquisition of anamnestic and epidemiological information, with the aim of tracing close contacts.
Statement from the CEO of Asl Ba, Antonio Sanguedolce: “Today, in the province of Bari, we have registered 56 cases of positivity to SARS Cov2. 29 are citizens of Bari and its province who have returned from an organized bus trip to Calabria. Eight, on the other hand, are close contacts of already identified cases. On the other hand, the Prevention Department is investigating to reconstruct the contagion chain and isolate new outbreaks. It is necessary – concludes Sanguedolce – that citizens strictly adhere to the known rules to avoid the spread of contagion: maintain interpersonal distances; wear the mask; frequently disinfect hands with hydroalcoholic solutions. “
Statement from ASL BAT CEO Alessandro Delle Donne: “There are 3 positive cases registered today in the province of Bat, of which 2 are attributable to positive cases registered in recent days. Only one case is symptomatic. “
Statement from DG Asl Fg, Vito Piazzolla: “There are 5 new positivities to COVID detected in the province of Foggia in the last 24 hours. These are 2 cases related to outbreaks already known and limited; 2 people returned from Sardinia and Campania respectively; 1 symptomatic person, identified thanks to the recommendation of the GP. Active health surveillance has been organized for all. For new cases, unrelated to pre-existing outbreaks, the corporate hygiene service is rapidly rebuilding the chains of contagion. “
Statement from DG Asl Lecce, Rodolfo Rollo: “The only case registered today by the Prevention Department is that of a resident of the province of Lecce, who came into close contact with a positive person from outside the Region.”
