The suspected case of the new British variant of Covid-19 found in a 25-year-old girl who returned to Bari from London last Thursday keeps the regional Covid working group on hold.
Meanwhile, that the swab is examined in the next few hours by the Foggia Zooprophylactic Institute to check if it is the English variant of the virus, in the last 24 hours in Puglia 4,377 swabs have been processed (3 thousand less than yesterday) and registered 788 positive cases (3 less than yesterday): 237 in the province of Bari, 17 in the province of Brindisi, 62 in the province of BAT, 422 in the province of Foggia, 33 in the province of Lecce, 17 in the province from Taranto, 1 resident outside the region. One case of unknown residence was reclassified and attributed.

The positivity rate rises to 18% compared to yesterday which was 10.5%.
There were also 31 deaths: 13 in the province of Bari, 3 in the province of BAT, 13 in the province of Foggia, 2 in the province of Taranto.
Despite the increase in the positivity rate, the number of hospitalizations is decreasing and the number of cured patients (more than a thousand) is increasing, reaching 25,603.
963,643 tests have been carried out since the emergency began. 53,574 are currently positive cases.
