One hundred and seventy days in quarantine and 19 swabs. Nada Cava remains positive. A true record. His life has become a maze that has everything negative except the hyssop. In recent days, he launched his second appeal for aid to the Delivery courier: I’m really mad. I hope this nightmare ends once and for all. The first message was delivered in late July to another newspaper. I live alone, I am separated and I do not receive any kind of support from my ex-husband. I love my job, also because it is my only livelihood. But I am in danger of not having one more, of being fired and losing the apartment as well. I am going into depression. The lady had opened her heart and decided to make her story public because since the beginning of March she had tested positive for Covid and even on that date (July 20) she had reached her thirteenth swab. After a bit of hope (a negative swab), her home confinement has been extended for another month. We are at the end of August, still positive and the letter of dismissal has arrived.

Nada is 49 years old, he is from the Marche region but lives in Abruzzo, in San Giovanni di Colonnella (Teramo). Since March 13, the day he discovered that he had contracted the coronavirus, in a state of illness. This prolonged and forced absence cost him dismissal from the supermarket where he worked as a counter-agent. I don’t feel well, ‘he thundered at the Messenger. Now they will take me to the Covid hospital in Pescara and they will tell me if I am suitable for the treatment of hyperimmune plasma (useful antibodies to fight the virus taken in the form of cured plasma and injected into a patient). I was already there last week. I was confident, I hoped they would start giving me therapy immediately, but they only gave me a day hospital: medical exams and tests. I often think and hope it’s just a nightmare. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
Hospitalization
After testing positive in March, Nada was hospitalized for eleven days at Mazzini Hospital in Teramo. In those rooms began her long ordeal. It almost seemed that Covid patients were annoying. was discharged which is still positive. Once home, the fever returned. It had saturation at 88 and the pressure ranged from very high to very low. An annoying itch plagued my days. I have taken I don’t know how many drugs. Due to the quarantine, Nada was unable to attend her mother’s funeral or her daughter’s wedding. She is hospitalized again, this time in the Covid-19 room of the Atri hospital. I didn’t get much better, but since I became asymptomatic, they told me I could go home. Upon returning, the bad news of the dismissal. Fortunately, she had a proposal for another job. It should take the service on September 2 in another supermarket, thanks to the good heart of its owner. But the problem of positivity remains: not even a miracle can make me negative that day. I really hope I don’t miss this opportunity.
