Coronavirus, October 14 newsletter: 366 new infections and two deaths in Sicily

Even in Sicily, as in many other regions of the country, coronavirus infections continue to increase. Second today’s newsletter from the Ministry of HealthRegarding the last 24 hours, the new cases are 366 (yesterday they were 334). The swabs processed today were 7,021, compared to 8,340 the day before. Two deaths, a figure that raises the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic to 343. Currently, the positives on the island are 5,187 (+310), 4,691 (+284) people in home isolation, while those hospitalized are 447 (+ 21), of which 49 (+5) in intensive care.

IN ITALY: Absolute record of infections in Italy by Coronavirus: according to the bulletin of the Ministry of Health, 7,332 cases were registered in 24 hours, bringing the total to 372,799. The highest figure to date since the beginning of the emergency was registered on March 21, with 6,557 cases in one day: in that case, however, the swabs performed were 26,336 while yesterday they were 152,196, the record since the beginning of the emergency. The victims were 43 in the last 24 hours, two more than yesterday, raising the total since the beginning of the emergency to 36,289. The number of positives is also growing today: according to data from the Ministry of
Health to date is 92,445, an increase of 5,252 compared to Tuesday. Of these, 5,470 are hospitalized in ordinary wards, 394 more in the last 24 hours, 539 are in intensive care, an increase of 25 compared to yesterday, and 86,436 are in home isolation (+4,833). The growth in discharges and recovered is less evident: 2,037 in one day, bringing the total to 244,065.
