There are 708 new cases of coronavirus in Sicily in the last 24 hours compared to 7,499 swabs processed. Instead, there are ten new deaths. The new bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health regarding Covid data today, October 28, reveals that infections are down compared to yesterday (almost 180 less compared to an almost equal number of tampons).
There are 111 people admitted to intensive care, 8 more than the previous day. On the other hand, 787 patients are hospitalized with symptoms and 11,290 are in home isolation. The total of those currently positive in Sicily now stands at 12,188, while the number of those recovered or discharged has reached 6,386. Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sicily, 19,033 total cases of Covid have been recorded, while 459 people have died.
Palermo continues to be the most affected province, with 228 cases in 24 hours. Catania follows with an increase of 173 positives. In Enna, however, no new cases were registered.
The situation in the rest of Italy
The new newsletter of the Ministry of Health today Wednesday, October 28, 2020 confirms the worrying trend in constant increase in the number of new cases of positivity to Sars-Cov-2 that have brought the number of patients with Covid to more than 276 thousand currently positive, levels never reached during the first wave. Today there are 24,991 new cases of which more than 7 thousand only in Lombardy (the bulletin published yesterday, Tuesday, October 27, registered 21,994 new cases). 205 have died in the last 24 hours.
