Coronavirus Lombardy, Fontana extends ordinance until October 19

The President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio fontana, announced in a note that it had been extended until October 19 the ordinance that expires today. The Lombard governor announced that he had called for tomorrow, Friday, October 16, a meeting with the mayors of the provincial capitals and the group leaders of the parties represented in the regional council to take stock of the situation regarding the evolution of the spread of the virus.

In the note released late in the afternoon today it is also specified that “access to the facilities of the residential units of the territorial network is prohibited by relatives / carers and acquaintances of the users present there, unless authorized by the person in charge doctor, or the Covid 19 Contact of the structure itself (example: end-of-life situations) and, in any case, after measuring body temperature at the entrance and taking all necessary measures to avoid contagion ”.

The data on the contagion of Coronavirus published today in the daily bulletin on the situation in Lombardy mark a new increase in infections throughout the Region: in the last 24 hours there have been 2,067 new infections by Covid-19 out of the 32,507 swabs made. In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Health Councilor Giulio Gallera explained that the increase in daily Coronavirus infections is represented by “a very rapid wave” to which “the system is reacting because it was ready.” The number one in Welfare explained that in Lombardy “1,550 beds” have been reached in 18 different centers-hospitals. The number of places in intensive care has increased by 150 while that of subintensive care has increased by 400 new beds.
