There are 18,040 new positives for coronavirus at 5 pm on Friday, December 24, bringing the total, since the beginning of the pandemic, to 2,009,317 (+ 0.91% day-to-day). The dead, in the last 24 hours, were 505 to add the 70,900 units in February to this part (+ 0.72%). The positives currently counted in Italy are 593,632 (-0.87% compared to Wednesday, December 23) and of these 24,070 hospitalized with symptoms (476 fewer, that is, 1.94%) and 2,589 in intensive care (35 units in less day by day, -1.33%). People subjected to home isolation are 566,973 (-0.78%). 22,718 were discharged and cured within 24 hours. This is the table that emerges after the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health, prepared from 193,777 swabs made against 173,364 on Wednesday, December 23. The positivity rate rises to 9.3%, compared to 8.3% the day before.
Seven regions with more than a thousand cases
The region with the highest number of daily cases is once again Veneto, with another 3,873 positives in 24 hours. They are followed by Lombardy (2,656), Emilia Romagna (1,692), Lazio (1,519), Puglia (1,458), Campania (1,156) and Piedmont (1,057). Below 1000 we find Sicily (853), Friuli Venezia Giulia (831), Tuscany (563), Marche (415), Trentino Alto Adige (380), Sardinia (331), Liguria (328), Calabria (244), Abruzzo (223), Umbria (192), Basilicata (155), Molise (115) and Valle d’Aosta (35).

Veneto, the new positives are 3,837
The number of positives has grown in Veneto in the last 24 hours by 3,837 units, a figure that brings the total current infected to 104,002. Deaths in the last 24 hours are 103, bringing the total to 5,850 since the start of the pandemic. The healed are 116,872.
In Emilia Romagna 1,692 infections and 76 deaths
There are 1,692 new cases of positivity for Covid in Emilia Romagna, identified in the last 24 hours on the basis of 15,906 swabs. There are still 76 deaths, mostly elderly. On the other hand, hospitalizations are decreasing. More than half of the new positives, 742, are asymptomatic. 2,341 recoveries have been made, bringing the total number of active cases to 57,299, of which 94.9% are in home isolation because they do not require special hospital care. There are 201 patients hospitalized in intensive care (-6 compared to Wednesday), and also those in the other rooms of the Covid, a total of 2,718 (-85). Of the 76 new deaths that occurred, 14 occurred in the province of Bologna, twelve in Modena, ten in Ravenna, nine in Piacenza, Rimini and Ferrara, seven in the province of Forlì-Cesena, three in Parma and Reggio Emilia. Since the start of the epidemic, 7,335 people have died in the region.

There are new positive cases (563, average age 49 years) and deaths (35 patients, average 80.4 years) from coronavirus in Tuscany in the last 24 hours according to the updated report of the Region. Tuscany thus reached 117,542 total cases (+ 0.5%) with a percentage increase lower than that of cured patients, which grew 0.9% and reached 103,021. The total of deaths registered in Tuscany due to Covid was 3,552 (of which 53 non-residents). Florence with 14 new deaths has exceeded 1,200 deaths (1,209). The current positives are 10,969 (-3.4% on Wednesday). Among these, there are 1,049 hospitalized (-20 the day before) of which 161 are in intensive care, while the rest are cared for at home and after a long time there are less than 10,000.
