San Venanzo (Terni), September 17, 2020 – “Next Sunday will be four weeks of positivity in COVID-19, without any symptoms. The problem in my case is not the virus itself, but the fact of having to stay inside feeling good. I can’t wait for this to all end soon. ” Talking about it Mirko, twenty-three years Saint Venanzo that since August 23, after three more positive swabs, he has still not managed to defeat the coronavirus and, therefore, he is in solitary confinement at his home.
The infection most likely occurred in Sardinia, where he spent a vacation with a couple of friends and his girlfriend (the only one who did not contract Covid) and from whom he returned on August 17. “The first to get sick was my friend – he says – who already had a fever and a cough on his return. So I did a swab on August 19 too, but it was negative. I repeated it on the 23rd and instead the answer this time was positive. “
The only symptoms Mirko reported early in the illness were loss of taste and smell, which soon returned. However, the swabs performed on September 31, 9 and finally September 14 also confirmed the positive result. “When I took the last test, I thought I was finally cured – continues the young man – since in the previous test the values were going down. And instead I will have to stay closed at home, alone, waiting for the next swab. which is more difficult for an asymptomatic person like me, especially at head level ”.
The appeal that he now addresses to his colleagues is “stare beware, to maintain distance, to use the mask and when returning from areas with risk of rubbing and isolating oneself until the answer.
“Not so much for us – he concludes – but for our parents, grandparents and all the people around us.”
Mirko also publicly received the solidarity of the mayor of San Venanzo, Marsilio Marinelli, who calls him every day to make sure of his conditions. “Know that the whole community is close to you,” the mayor wrote in a Facebook message.
