Despite the measures taken by the Lombardy Region, the coronavirus epidemic continues to infect people. The data from Saturday, October 24, in the bulletin issued by the Councilor for Well-being shows a worrying summary: 32,749 swabs made, the positives to Covid are 4,956 (15.1%).
Nationally, the increase in Covid infections in Italy is stable. The Ministry of Health bulletin indicates that 19,644 new cases have been identified in the last 24 hours, for a total of more than 500,000 infected (504,509) since the beginning of the emergency. Swabs performed nationwide were 177,669, roughly 4,300 less than on Friday, October 23. On the other hand, the number of victims increased, 151 in one day – on Friday there were 91 – bringing the total to 37,210.
Also from the bulletin of the Ministry of Health it appears that Lombardy continues to be the region with the highest increase, with 4,956 new cases in 24 hours, while seven other regions have more than a thousand cases: Piedmont (+1,548), Campania (1,718) Veneto (1,729), Lazio (1,687), Tuscany (.1526), Emilia Romagna (1,180), Liguria (1,035). The relationship between new cases and smears performed continues to increase: it stands at 11.05%.
