Six months of agony. A long battle against the Coronavirus to which, however, a 64-year-old man had to surrender. Mario Fanelli, from Cattolica, died on Saturday due to the injuries that Covid inflicted on his body, which, despite the disappearance of the virus, compromised the organs to the point of requiring a very long hospitalization in intensive care.
The local Rimini newspapers tell about it. It was in mid-March that Fanelli was transferred to the hospital, where he remained until September 5. “When I hear people who say that the virus does not exist, that it is weaker, that they do not want to wear masks, I feel immense anger – says his wife to the Corriere di Romagna – they do not know what we have been through, something that I wish my worst enemy. “
Mario Fanelli did not suffer from other pathologies“He was just taking the blood pressure pill,” explains his wife, who was slightly infected. “After 20 days of hospitalization, he was negative.” But the problem was the collateral damage that hit the body and despite the treatments and interventions, 20 days ago, Mario did not succeed.
“It was heartbreaking. For him, for his family and also for all of us – the head of intensive care, Giuseppe Nardi, tells Resto del Carlino – we did everything we could to try to save him.”
