In less than 24 hours since the last bulletin of the regional Working Group on covid 19 infections, there has been a further increase in cases in Basilicata.

There are 16 new positives linked to contacts with the Marsicovetere retirement home where 30 infections were found among guests and operators in recent days. These are family members and other outsiders who have come into contact with previously proven positives. In short, a new outbreak appears to have emerged in the Val d’Agri.

However, two cases were found in a retirement home in Brienza.

In Muro Lucano, a school worker tested positive for Covid. Mayor Setaro announced an order to close the J. Stella Integral Institute, as a precautionary measure, pending the result of the swabs to which the secretarial staff must submit.

The regional working group announces that yesterday, September 29, 883 swabs were tested for the search for contagion by Covid-19, of which 32 were positive.

That same day, the recovery of 1 person residing in the Municipality of Bella still hospitalized in the San Carlo hospital was recorded.

There are 229 currently positive Lucans (205 in the last update to which 25 positive residents are added and 1 recovery is subtracted) and of these 219 are in home isolation.

There are 13 hospitalized in Lucanian hospitals: in Potenza, 7 people, including a recovered one awaiting discharge, are hospitalized in the San Carlo infectious diseases ward; in Matera, 4 people are in the infectious diseases ward (including a recovered one awaiting discharge) and 2 people (including a recovered one still hospitalized) in the intensive care ward of the ‘Madonna delle Grazie’ hospital.

A total of 29 deaths must be added to the positives (9 from Potenza, 3 from Paterno, 1 from Spinoso, 2 from Moliterno, 1 from Villa d’Agri, 2 from Rapolla, 1 from Irsina, 1 from Montemurro, 1 from Pisticci , 2 from Matera, 1 from San Costantino Albanese, 2 from Avigliano, 1 from Tursi, 1 from Aliano, 1 from Bernalda); 407 cured; 1 citizen of Campania in isolation in Lavello; 1 Calabrian citizen in isolation in Lavello, 1 person of foreign nationality diagnosed in Puglia in isolation in Matera; 6 people of foreign nationality in isolation, one in Potenza, one in Matera; one in Rotonda; one in Lavello, one in Scanzano, one in Barile; 1 person of foreign nationality domiciled in Venosa and hospitalized in San Carlo; 1 citizen residing in Tuscany and isolated in Basilicata; 5 citizens residing in Emilia Romagna in isolation in Basilicata; 1 person of foreign nationality and from a foreign state in isolation in Basilicata; 24 isolated foreign nationals in a special facility in Basilicata; 1 citizen residing in Basilicata in isolation in Lazio; 1 citizen resident and isolated in Basilicata diagnosed in Puglia; 3 temporary foreigners in solitary confinement at Palazzo San Gervasio.

Since the beginning of the health emergency, 73,036 swabs have been analyzed, of which 72,236 were negative.
