Coronavirus, increase in cases and positivity rate in Sicily: 43 victims

There are 1838 new cases registered in the last 24 hours in Sicily in 9386 swabs performed. Thus the positive rate of the tests carried out rises to 19.58% (yesterday 16.31%). There are also 43 victims today, 1,141 in total since the start of the pandemic.

There are currently 36,241 positives on the island (+1,485) of which 1,568 are hospitalized with symptoms, an increase of 31 units. Intensive care admissions remain stationary compared to yesterday.

There are 34,431 people in home isolation. 14,489 people recovered / discharged since the beginning of the emergency. Of the new cases registered, 583 are in the province of Palermo, 625 in Catania, 55 in Enna, 145 in Messina, 70 in Caltanissetta, 56 in Ragusa, 71 in Trapani, 107 in Agrigento and 126 in Syracuse.

34,767 positive cases have been detected in the last 24 hours and 692 deceased for a total of 49,261 since the beginning of the emergency, as can be seen from the data of the Ministry of Health. In the last 24 hours, the number of people hospitalized in intensive care, according to data from the Ministry of Health, is 10 for a total of 3,758. There are 34,063 ordinary hospitalizations, thus the threshold of 34,000 has been exceeded with an increase of 106 patients. The increase in the current positive is 14,570 for a total of 791,746.

The ratio between positives and mattresses fell again: it stood at 14.6%, one point less than on Friday. According to the bulletin of the Ministry of Health, 237,225 swabs were made in the last 24 hours, 852 less than yesterday.

Since the beginning of the emergency, 529,524 people have been discharged or cured, with an increase of 19,502 in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, there are 753,925 people in home isolation, 14,454 more than on Friday.
