FLORENCE – In Tuscany there are 92,776 cases of positivity for the coronavirus, 1,892 more than yesterday (1,200 identified in the course of the screening and 692 of the detection activities). New cases are 2.1% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew 7.4% and reached 37,471 (40.4% of all cases).
The swabs made reached 1,440,310, 18,527 more than yesterday, of which 10.2% were positive. On the other hand, 7,766 subjects evaluated today (excluding control swabs), of which 24.4% were positive. To these are added the 4,500 rapid antigenic swabs that are currently being made. Currently the positives are 53,140 today, -1.4% compared to yesterday.
There are 2,094 hospitalized (7 more than yesterday), of which 296 in intensive care (1 more). There are 44 new deaths: 26 men and 18 women with an average age of 82.2 years.
These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region.
The average age of 1,892 cases today is approximately 46 years (13% are under 20, 24% between 20 and 39, 36% between 40 and 59, 20% between 60 and 79, 7% are 80 years or older ).
It should be remembered that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated by province of notification but by province of residence or domicile.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change compared to yesterday:
There are 26,092 cases in total to date in Florence (428 more than yesterday), 8,190 in Prato (231 more), 7,988 in Pistoia (232 more), 5,819 in Massa (92 more), 9,143 in Lucca (229 more), 12,701 in Pisa (202 more), 6,526 in Livorno (174 more), 8,656 in Arezzo (142 more), 3,876 in Siena (62 more), 3,230 in Grosseto (100 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.
Therefore, there are 891 cases found today in the ASL Center (sum of the provinces of Florence, Prato, Pistoia), 697 in the northwest (Massa Carrara, Lucca, Pisa, Livorno), 304 in the southeast (Arezzo, Siena, Grosseto).
Tuscany ranks seventh in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 2,488 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average of around 2,230 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The provinces with the highest notification rate are Prato with 3,178 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,031, Massa Carrara with 2,986, and the lowest Siena with 1,451.
In total, 51,046 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or are symptom-free (736 less than yesterday, less 1.4%).
There are 50,176 (886 fewer than yesterday, 1.7% less) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (ASL Center 17,997, Northwest 21,149, Southeast 11,030).
The people admitted today to beds dedicated to COVID patients are a total of 2,094 (7 more than yesterday, plus 0.3%), 296 in intensive care (1 more than yesterday, plus 0.3%).
The total number of cured people is 37,471 (2,577 more than yesterday, plus 7.4%): 2,284 clinically cured people (150 more than yesterday, plus 7%), that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with infection and 35,187 (2,427 more than yesterday, plus 7.4%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.
Unfortunately, today there are 44 new deaths: 26 men and 18 women with an average age of 82.2 years.
Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 12 in Florence, 7 in Prato, 1 in Pistoia, 3 in Massa Carrara, 2 in Lucca, 8 in Pisa, 5 in Livorno, 3 in Arezzo, 1 in Siena, 2 in Grosseto.
2,165 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 800 in Florence, 132 in Prato, 166 in Pistoia, 254 in Massa Carrara, 222 in Lucca, 222 in Pisa, 135 in Livorno, 113 in Arezzo, 58 in Siena , 44 in Grosseto, 19 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.
Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 58.0 x100,000 residents against 80.5 x100,000 for the Italian average (10th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (130.3 x 100 000), Florence (79.1 x 100 000) and Lucca (57.2 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (19.9 x 100,000).
