Coronavirus in Tuscany: 2,592 new cases, the average age is 48 years. 32 the dead

FLORENCE – In Tuscany there are 57,680 cases of positivity for the coronavirus, 2,592 more than yesterday (2,168 identified in the course of the screening and 424 of the detection activities). New cases are 4.7% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew 3.7% and reached 16,738 (29% of all cases).

The swabs made reached 1,180,350, 15,743 more than yesterday. 9,398 subjects were tested (excluding control swabs), of which 27.6% were positive. To these are added the 1,382 rapid antigenic swabs that are currently being made. The current positives are 39,440 today, + 5.2% compared to yesterday.

There are 1,512 hospitalized (77 less than yesterday), of which 209 in intensive care (7 more). Today there are 32 new deaths: 22 men and 10 women with an average age of 83.1 years.

These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region.

The average age of the 2,592 cases at present is around 48 years (12% are under 20, 24% between 20 and 39, 34% between 40 and 59, 20% between 60 and 79, 10% age 80 or older).

It should be remembered that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.

The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 17,138 cases in total to date in Florence (732 more than yesterday), 4,856 in Prato (211 more), 4,619 in Pistoia (236 more), 3,304 in Massa-Carrara (140 more), 5,505 in Lucca (224 more) , 7,686 in Pisa (449 more), 4,197 in Livorno (211 more), 5,668 in Arezzo (199 more), 2,416 in Siena (109 more), 1,736 in Grosseto (81 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.

Therefore, there are 1,179 cases found today in the ASL Center, 1,024 in the Northwest, 389 in the Southeast.

Tuscany ranks seventh in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 1,547 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is around 1,367 per 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 1,884 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 1,834, Massa-Carrara with 1,695; the lowest Grosseto with 783.

In total, 37,928 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (2,035 more than yesterday, 5.7% more).

There are 37,125 (993 more than yesterday, plus 2.7%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (ASL Center 13,607, Northwest 14,803, Southeast 8,715).

The people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to COVID patients today are a total of 1,512 (77 less than yesterday, less 4.8%), 209 in intensive care (7 more than yesterday, more 3.5%).

There are 16,738 people cured in total (602 more than yesterday, more 3.7%): 1,242 people clinically cured (526 more than yesterday, more 73.5%), that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 15,496 ( 76 more than yesterday, plus 0.5%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.

Today there are 32 new deaths: 22 men and 10 women with an average age of 83.1 years.

Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 17 in Florence, 3 in Prato, 2 in Pistoia, 2 in Massa-Carrara, 1 in Lucca, 5 in Pisa, 1 in Arezzo, 1 resident outside Tuscany.

1,502 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 553 in Florence, 78 in Prato, 109 in Pistoia, 206 in Massa Carrara, 168 in Lucca, 137 in Pisa, 92 in Livorno, 80 in Arezzo, 37 in Siena On February 27 in Grosseto, 15 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 40.3 per 100,000 inhabitants against 66.6 per 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (105.7 per 100,000), Florence (54.7 per 100,000) and Lucca (43.3 per 100,000), the lowest in Grosseto (12 , 2 per 100,000).
