TRENTO. Right in these hours from Rome the request came to the different Regions, including Trentino (as confirmed by Antonio Ferro from the prevention department), send data on antigenic swab results to the Ministry of Health fast (article HERE).
This is not a small thing since I positives identified with rapid tests greatly influence the total number of infections, however, for the moment these do not appear in the official counts. Or better, they do not appear in the counts of some regions and autonomous provinces generating discrepancies, also notable, and no little confusion in data analysis (article HERE).
A question posed multiple times by The Dolomites but that now comes underlined also by the mayor of Trento Franco Ianeselli: “In our city we have until today750 positive for molecular swabs, in addition to 1,100 positive for “rapid” ones. It is important that all cases are counted and that citizens receive unique information ”, comments the mayor.
On closer inspection the discrepancy between the two data is considerable, in the city of Trento alone the number of actual positives is almost double compared to officially reported infections in the provincial bulletin. It must be taken into account, in fact, that for a few weeks rapid tests no longer need molecular swab confirmation but they are simply considered (and treated) for all intents and purposes as new infections.
“The figures of the pandemic in Trento and Trentino remain alarming – observes Ianeselli – it is enough to read them to understand that we do not live in a separate world, sheltered from the ‘red’ emergency against which many Italian regions are already fighting. Here too we are in an increasingly problematic situation both for our health system and for the health of people, especially the most fragile ”.
Precisely for this reason the mayor appeals to respect the regulations: “Never before has it been clear that everyone’s health is closely related to the behavior of others. Not respecting the rules, pretending that nothing has happened, sabotaging, ignoring decrees and ordinances means putting ourselves in serious danger. With tragic consequences, as lived in Trentino and in other places during the first phase of the pandemic ”.
