Change of course of the Region. The test will cost 65 euros
CAGLIARI. From now on, even asymptomatic private citizens who so wish will be able to independently contact the public laboratories of Sardinia to undergo molecular smear testing, antibody tests and serological tests.
“These services – specified in a resolution approved by the regional council and proposed by the health counselor Mario Nieddu – must be provided for consideration and prior medical prescription from the family doctor.” These are the fees, “for reference only”: 65 euros for the molecular swab, 17.97 euros for the rapid antigenic swab, 12.65 for the antibody serological and 7.64 for the rapid serological.
The provision marks a change of course, probably linked to the fact that, at present, only Mater Olbia’s private laboratory administers molecular swabs to individuals, but also – it is explained in the resolution – “to the change in the epidemiological situation that has become since August has highlighted a resurgence of cases in the regional territory “.
Until now, in fact, the analysis laboratories of the health authorities of the regional health system were obliged to guarantee the screening of health and social-health workers, patients in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and nursing homes, with expenses in charge of the health system. . On the other hand, employers could resort to authorized and accredited private laboratories to screen public or private employees, as well as private individuals who only request the serological test, the molecular test being in charge of public health in case of positivity.
