Coronavirus in Sardinia: 65 new cases, seven deaths and a positive rate of 2.6 percent

Routine hospitalizations and intensive care continue to decline

SASSARI. A total of 40,877 positive Covid-19 cases have been detected in Sardinia since the beginning of the emergency. In the last update of the Regional Crisis Unit, 65 new cases were detected. In total, 749,112 swabs were performed, for an overall increase of 2,418 tests compared to the previous figure. The ratio of positive cases to swabs performed marks a positive rate of 2.6% for the island.

There were 7 deaths (1,132 in total). On the other hand, 238 patients are currently hospitalized in non-intensive wards (-9), while 21 (-3) patients are in intensive care. There are 12,712 people in home isolation. The cured are a total of 26,551 (+174), while the people declared clinically cured on the island are currently 223.

In the territory, of the total of 40,877 confirmed positive cases, 9,677 (+17) were detected in the metropolitan city of Cagliari, 6,552 (+13) in southern Sardinia, 3,469 (+13) in Oristano, 8,136 (+17) in Nuoro, 13,043 (+5) in Sassari.
