Today, Saturday, October 17, 2020, there are 1,123 more cases of people positive for coronavirus than yesterday. Among them there are 687 asymptomatic. Therefore, the cases of people who have so far tested positive for Covid-19 in Piedmont amount to 43,990, divided as follows by provinces: 4,926 Alessandria, 2,370 Asti, 1,430 Biella, 4,868 Cuneo, 4,051 Novara, 22,346 Turin, 1,895 Vercelli, 1,379 Verbano-Cusio- Ossola, as well as 357 residents outside the region but in charge of Piedmont health structures. The 368 remaining cases are in the processing and territorial allocation stage.

Compared to yesterday, the number of people admitted to intensive care has increased (55 people in total, 4 more) and the number of those who are not admitted to intensive care has increased (780 people in total, 79 more). There are 8,998 people in home isolation. The diagnostic swabs processed so far are 859,206 (more 9,721 compared to yesterday) of which 455,553 were negative.

The Piedmont Region Crisis Unit reported two deaths of people who tested positive for Covid-19 in the afternoon. None of these occurred today (the cumulative update data reported daily also includes deaths that occurred in the previous days and were only later determined as Covid deaths). The total is 4198 deaths who have tested positive for the virus since the beginning of the epidemic.

Today, the Crisis Unit of the Piedmont Region announced that 29,308 virologically cured patients (more than 62 compared to yesterday), while another 651 are “on the mend”.

Turin and Novara in Piedmont are the municipalities with the highest number of people currently positive for the covid-19 test. Settimo Torinese, Collegno and Moncalieri are the municipalities of Turin with more than 100 positive residents for covid-19.
