The number of people admitted to coronavirus hospitals in Piedmont is growing significantly. Today, Sunday, December 27, 2020, the crisis unit of the Piedmont Region has communicated 31 more than yesterday, of which three more in intensive care. The total is now 3,250 hospitalized, of which 211 are in intensive care. There are 31,199 people in home isolation.
The infection situation is essentially stationary: 475 new cases were registered, which is equivalent to 10.1% of the 4,685 swabs performed. There are 188 asymptomatic patients, which is equivalent to 39.6% of the total. The total of positive cases thus becomes 197,649, divided as follows by provinces: 17,611 Alessandria, 9,886 Asti, 6,813 Biella, 27,258 Cuneo, 15,357 Novara, 103,921 Turin, 7,467 Vercelli, 6,648 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in addition to 1,059 residents outside the region, but in charge of Piedmontese health structures. The remaining 1,629 are under development and territorial allocation.
There are 17 deaths of people positive to the coronavirus test, one of which occurred today and the others occurred in the previous days and only later were attributed to the epidemic. The total is now 7,784 deaths who tested positive for the virus, divided as follows: 1,193 Alessandria, 483 Asti, 331 Biella, 873 Cuneo, 645 Novara, 3,577 Turin, 368 Vercelli, 244 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in addition to 70 residents outside the region but died in Piedmont.
