Today, Friday, October 23, 2020, there are 2,032 more cases of people positive for coronavirus than yesterday. Among them there are 1,036 asymptomatic, which is equivalent to 51% of the total. Thus, the cases of people who have so far tested positive for Covid-19 in Piedmont amount to 51,700, divided as follows by provinces: 5,435 Alessandria, 2,671 Asti, 1,655 Biella, 6,037 Cuneo, 4,616 Novara, 26,869 Turin, 2,060 Vercelli , 1,528 Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, as well as 386 residents outside the region, but in charge of Piedmontese health structures. The remaining 443 cases are in the processing and territorial attribution stage.
Compared to yesterday, the number of hospitalized in intensive care increases (84 people in total, 5 more) and the number of hospitalized who are not in intensive care increases (1,362 people in total, 136 more). There are 15,016 people in home isolation. The diagnostic swabs processed so far are 919,629 (plus 12,665) of which 495,464 were negative.
The Piedmont Region Crisis Unit reported nine deaths of Covid-19 positive people in the afternoon. One of these occurred today. Note that the updated cumulative data that is reported daily also includes deaths that occurred in the previous days and were only subsequently determined as covid deaths. The total is 4,236 deaths who have tested positive for the virus since the beginning of the epidemic.
Today the Crisis Unit of the Piedmont Region announced that there are 29,815 virologically cured patients (more than 107 than yesterday), while another 1,187 are “on the road to recovery.”
