Coronavirus infections identified in Italy decrease: with 225,640 swabs analyzed in the last 24 hours, new cases amount to 32,961. Yesterday, in front of 217,758 tests performed, the infections recorded had been 35,098. The number of infected people in the country, since the beginning of the pandemic, thus rises to a height 1,028,424. According to data from the daily Civil Protection bulletin and the Ministry of Health, the total number of swabs performed on the population, from last February to today, is equal to 17,965,836.
On the last day they died 623 people, for a total of victims that has reached the figure of 42,953. Yesterday, however, they had been 580 recorded deaths. The people recovered from Covid-19 are 372,113. In Italy today there are 613,358 cases of active infection. They are hospitalized in hospitals 29,444 patients (yesterday were 28,633), while intensive therapies have exceeded 3,000: they are 3,081 people who currently need mechanical ventilation, 110 more than yesterday. The regions with the highest increase in new cases in the last 24 hours are Lombardy, 8,180 contagions, Campania, 3,166, and the Veneto, 3,082.
