Coronavirus, eight new positives in the territory: five are symptomatic

This Thursday, September 17, there are 8 new cases registered in the Cesena area, 5 people are symptomatic. This was reported by the regular report of the Region, which also indicates three new positive aspects in the Forlì area.

The regional situation

Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, 33,972 positivity cases have been registered in Emilia-Romagna, 110 more than yesterday, of which 48 asymptomatic, identified as part of regional contact tracing and detection activities, and 62 symptomatic.

The control and prevention activity continues: of the 110 new cases, 61 were already in isolation at the time of the swab execution and 58 were identified in the context of known outbreaks.

There are 18 new infections related to foreign returns, for which the Region has provided two nasopharyngeal swabs during fiduciary isolation if they arrive from non-Schengen countries, and one swab if they return from Greece, Spain, Croatia and Malta. . The number of cases returning from other regions is 2. The average age of new positives is currently 40.6 years.

Of the 48 new asymptomatic patients, 13 were identified through category tests introduced by the Region, 2 through prehospital tests, 31 through contact tracing, and in 1 case through serological screening. In one case, the reason for making the tampon is unknown. Unfortunately, there was one death: a 90-year-old woman in the Modena area.

Regarding the situation in the territory, the highest number of cases is registered in the provinces of Bologna (17), Parma (14), Reggio Emilia (10), Modena (20), Ferrara (14) and Ravenna (12) . In Bologna and the province there are 17 new positives (2 hospitalized and 15 in home isolation): 12 largely attributable to known outbreaks (family and work environment), while 5 are sporadic cases. Of the total of 17 cases, 11 subjects were already isolated.

In the province of Parma, of the 14 new positive cases, 6 were identified by contact tracing; 3 are patients with symptoms, while 2 refer to returns from abroad (respectively from Albania and Moldova). In one case, it was about a person who was leaving abroad (Chile) on a business trip; another case of positivity is related to a volunteer of the medical transport. Finally, a case arose after the selection.

In the Reggio area, 6 out of 10 new positive cases are attributable to family outbreaks; one case is a return from abroad (Albania), another arose after the selection, 2 are attributable to an outbreak of friends. The 10 cases are in home isolation.

In the Modena area, out of 20 new positives, 4 returned from abroad (2 from Albania, one from Moldova, one from France); 2 returned from another Italian region, while 11 cases are related to known family outbreaks. Finally, three were classified as sporadic.

In the province of Ferrara, out of 14 new positives, 4 returned from abroad (3 from Albania, one from Morocco); 5 were identified as contacts of already known cases, attributable to family outbreaks. A smear was performed on the 3 new positives due to the presence of symptoms (of these, one was hospitalized; another positive case was identified after the smear performed before admission). Finally, a positive emerged from the evaluation of the company.

Twelve new cases in Ravenna and its province, 9 in home isolation and 3 hospitalized. Of the total, 8 were contacts of already known cases, of which 5 in the family context; 2 sporadic, arising after the manifestation of symptoms; two other cases eventually returned from abroad (one from Macedonia and the other from Tunisia).

These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on institutional requests – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region.
The swabs made are 8,414, for a total of 1,059,104. To these are also added 2,707 serological tests. Active cases, that is, the number of real patients, are currently 4,277 (98 more than those registered yesterday).

People isolated at home, that is, those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment, or are asymptomatic, are a total of 4,078 (92 more than yesterday), 95% of active cases. There are 21 patients in intensive care (2 more than yesterday), while 178 are hospitalized in other rooms of the Covid (+4).

The total number of cured people reached 25,224 (+11 compared to yesterday): 8 “clinically cured”, that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection, and 25,216 those declared cured in all aspects because they were negative in two tests. consecutive. These are the new cases of positivity in the area, which do not refer to the province of residence, but to the province in which the diagnosis was made: 4,921 in Piacenza (+2, of which 1 symptomatic), 4,142 in Parma ( +14, of which 5 symptomatic), 5,638 in Reggio Emilia (+10, of which 5 symptomatic), 4,743 in Modena (+20, of which 14 symptomatic), 6,033 in Bologna (+17, of which 10 symptomatic), 544 in Imola (+1, symptomatic), Ferrara 1,360 (+14, of which 5 symptomatic), Ravenna 1,694 (+12, of which 7 symptomatic), and 2,535 in Rimini (+9, of which which 8 symptomatic).
